Case 2732 HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE LUMINAIRE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel electrical light fixture is provided for use with high intensity gaseous discharge lamps. The fixture comprises two housings each housing containing at least one component of the lamp ballast and arranged such that one housing is suspended from the other housing with an air gap being provided therebetween. This arrangement ensures a substantially non-heat transfer relation between the housings such that heat generated by a transformer of the ballast located in one of the ballast housings does not effect the operation of the capacitors of the ballast located in the other one of the ballast housings.
