ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved high-internal-phase emulsion having increased stability under conditions of long term storage at elevated temperatures and freeze-thaw conditions, methods for preparing and stabilizing said emulsions and cosmetic preparations based thereon are disclosed. The improvement comprises incorporating into said emulsion an amount sufficient to increase the stability of said emulsion of an electrolyte contained in the aqueous phase of the emulsion.
