The invention includes a process for preparing an improved melt-strength polyolefin blend by incorporating a polyolefin/clay nanocomposite product. The nanocomposite-modified polyolefin blend is used to form articles through processing operations that involve stretching and/or drawing, such as thermoforming, melt spinning, blow molding and foaming. The addition of the nanocomposite product to the polyolefin blend improves the sag resistance of the polyolefin and broadens the processing window of the operation.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un mélange polyoléfinique présentant une plus grande résistance à la fusion, consistant à incorporer un produit nanocomposite de polyoléfine/argile. Le mélange polyoléfinique nanocomposite modifié est utilisé pour former des articles par des opérations de traitement d'allongement et/ou d'étirage, par exemple le thermoformage, le filage par fusion, le moulage par soufflage et le moussage. L'ajout du produit nanocomposite au mélange polyoléfinique améliore la résistance au fléchissement de la polyoléfine et élargit la capacité de traitement de l'opération.
