The invention relates to novel high-molecular polyazoles that, due to their high molecular weight and expressed as IV, are suited for producing fibers, films and membranes as well as shaped bodies when provided in a quantity of at least 1.3 dl/g. The invention also relates to a method for producing high- molecular polyazoles.
