ABSTRACT A solid marking composition having an unexpected metallic sheen, a smooth, lipstick-like rub out, and unexpectedly enhanced opacity includes a metallic pigment and a nonmetallic colored pigment dispersed in a solid matrix. The solid matrix may be any suitable marking composition matrix, including a conventional wax and fatty acid matrix, a polyethylene resin matrix, or a polyethylene glycol resin matrix.
