A latch mechanism for securement to an edge portion of a closure element, and more particularly, but not exclusively, a sliding door. The door latch mechanism has a housing with a slide member having keeper engaging hook members to engage a keeper secured to a door jamb for locking and unlocking the door within a door frame. The slide member is guided along a straight axis and is connected to a finger engaging knob to displace it along that axis to lock and unlock the mechanism with the keeper. The slide member has one or two elongated through bores extending co-extensively with the straight axis and a load transfer pin-like member extends through the bores and connected on opposed sides to transfer lateral loads applied to the slide member to the door latch mechanism housing and door stile.
La présente invention vise un dispositif de verrouillage qui se monte à l'extrémité d'un élément de fermeture, et plus particulièrement sans toutefois s'y limiter sur une porte coulissante. Le dispositif de verrouillage de porte comprend un boîtier muni d'un élément coulissant portant des crochets qui s'engagent dans une butée pour l'assujettir à un montant de porte afin de verrouiller et de déverrouiller la porte dans son cadre. L'élément coulissant est guidé sur un axe parallèle et il est relié à un bouton qui entraîne une patte pour assurer le déplacement de cette dernière le long de cet axe afin de la verrouiller et de la déverrouiller avec la butée. L'élément coulissant présente un ou deux orifices ovalisés le traversant de part en part, de même étendue et façonnés le long de cet axe parallèle, et un élément-tige servant au transfert de charge qui fait saillie dans ces orifices et qui est par ailleurs relié de chaque côté pour transférer les charges latérales exercées sur l'élément coulissant au boîtier du mécanisme de verrouillage de la porte et au montant de cette porte.
