A chemically and thermally stable chromate free aqueous liquid treatment for metals, especially aluminum, that imparts corrosion resistance as good as that from conventional chromate containing treatments contains water and a fluoroacid selected from the group consisting of H2TiF6, H2ZrF6, H2HfF6, H2SiF6, H2GeF6, H2SnF6, HBF4, and mixtures thereof; a water soluble organic carboxylic acid that contains at least two hydroxyl groups, exclusive of the hydroxyl groups that are part of any carboxyl groups, per carboxyl group in each acid molecule, the water soluble salts of such acids, and mixtures thereof; a source of phosphate ions; and an organic component selected from the group consisting of tannins and amino-phenolic polymers.
L'invention concerne un traitement liquide aqueux exempt de chromate et stable sur le plan chimique et thermique, destiné aux métaux et en particulier à l'aluminium, fournissant une résistance à la corrosion égale à celle d'autres traitements conventionnels contenant du chromate, contenant de l'eau et un acide fluoré sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant H¿2?TiF¿6?, H¿2?ZrF¿6?, H¿2?HfF¿6?, H¿2?SiF¿6?, H¿2?GeF¿6?, H¿2?SnF¿6?, HBF¿4?, et des mélanges de ces derniers ; un acide carboxylique organique soluble dans l'eau contenant au moins deux groupes hydroxy, à l'exception des groupes hydroxy qui font partie des groupes carboxyle, par groupe carboxyle dans chaque molécule d'acide, les sels solubles dans l'eau de ces acides, et des mélanges de ces derniers ; une source d'ions phosphate ; et un composant organique sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant des tanins et des polymères aminophénols.
