ABSTRACT A pneumatic tire characterized in that: a tread is divided into a crown portion having a width corresponding to about 30% to 65% of the tread width and two shoulder portions by at least two longitudinal grooves extending in substantially zigzag or wavy line; the crown portion is provided with one or more central ribs or central block rows; each shoulder portion is provided with one or more outer ribs or outer blocks; and the rib or blocks on shoulder portions are provided with a plurality of narrow cut grooves so that the circumferential stiffness index of the pattern and a volume index of the narrow cut grooves my be set at 30 to 70 and 2.5 to 15, respectively.
