High potency antibodies, including immunologically active fragments thereof, having high kinetic association rate constants and optional high affinities are disclosed, along with methods for producing such antibodies. The high potency antibodies disclosed herein are of either the neutralizing or non- neutralizing type and have specificity for antigens displayed by microorganisms, especially viruses, as well as antigenic sites present on cancer cells and on various types of toxins, and the products of toxins. Processes for production high potency neutralizing antibodies and increasing the potency of already existing neutralizing antibodies are also described. Methods of using said antibodies in the prevention and/or treatment of diseases, especially diseases induced or caused by viruses, are disclosed.
La présente invention concerne des anticorps hautement efficaces, comprenant des fragments de ceux-ci actifs de façon immunologique, qui possèdent des constantes de taux d'association cinétique et des affinités optionnelles élevées, ainsi que des procédés de production de ces anticorps. Ces anticorps hautement efficaces sont du type neutralisant ou non et possèdent des spécificités liées aux antigènes présentés par des micro-organismes, en particulier à des virus, ainsi qu'à des sites antigéniques présents dans des cellules cancéreuses et sur divers types de toxines, et à des produits de toxines. Cette invention concerne aussi des processus de production d'anticorps neutralisants hautement efficaces et permettant d'améliorer l'efficacité d'anticorps neutralisants déjà existant. Cette invention concerne enfin des procédés d'utilisation de ces anticorps dans la prévention et/ou le traitement de maladies, en particulier de maladies induites au causées par des virus.
