A method to improve the high output characteristics of an utrasonic transducer (1) by urging a cooling gas (13) to flow through the transducer, thereby passing a cooling member (18) between each adjacent pair of piezoelectric elements (6, 7). In a preferred embodiment sulfurhexafluoride (SF6) is used as cooling gas.

L'invention porte sur un procédé visant à améliorer les caractéristiques de rendement élevé d'un transducteur (1) ultrasonique en propulsant un gaz (13) de refroidissement dans le transducteur, un élément (18) de refroidissement passant ainsi entre chaque paire adjacente d'éléments (6, 7) piézo-électriques. Selon une réalisation préférée, on utilise le sulfurhexafluorure (SF¿6?) comme gaz de refroidissement.
