A high-pressure cleaning appliance has an electric motor arranged in a housing, a high-pressure pump arranged in a housing with at least one piston that enters a sealed pumping chamber and a swash plate carried on a motor shaft that extends out of the housing of the electric motor. The pistons of the high-pressure pump are elastically supported on the swash plate. In order to electrically insulate the area of the swash plate drive, the transition through the swash plate from the motor shaft to the pistons is electrically interrupted by an intermediate layer of electrically insulating material.
