Abstract: The present invention relates to a diaphragm pump for pumping fluids at relatively high pressures (300psi). The pump is comprised of; a housing, a pressure chamber contained in this housing, a connecting rod and a generally circular diaphragm. This diaphragm is comprised of; a central area for attachment to the connecting rod and a flexure area, which is external to this central area. The connecting rod has an upper surface shaped in such a way which enables it to contact substantially all of the flexure area.
