The quick connect member (20) has a pair of arms (32) biased radially outwardly into a locked position in radial overlapping engagement with a shoulder (25) in a socket member (21) to retain a tube (26) in the socket member (21). The arms (32) extend from a disk (34) through flat and parallel axial sections (35) and then through outwardly flared sections (36), the arms (32) being arcuate in cross section between the axial sections (35) and the ends (33) thereof to terminate in arcuate ends (33). Each of the axial sections (35) includes an opening (39) extending tangentially to the tube (26) for receiving the projection (28). The socket member (21) has a pair of oppositely disposed radial holes (38) adjacent the shoulder (25) for accessing the arms (32) by inserting a tool through the holes (38) to move the arms (32) radially inwardly to a release position to clear the shoulder (25) to axially remove the quick connect member (20) from the socket member (21) to remove the tube (26) from the bore (22) of the socket member (21).
