ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE To remove ash residue from an oxidation reactor, such as for a wastewater reclamation system, a blowdown pot is provid- ed, with an inlet pressure control valve through which the pot receives unwanted residue from the reactor, such as ash, and this reactor residue can thereby be continuously or semi-continuously blown out from the high pressure reactor into the blowdown pot which has a liquid level therein minimizing steam flashing and vessel wear and at the same time the reactor residue is removed from the pot with a liquid overflow.
