ABSTRACT: Hihg-pressure sodium vapour discharge lamp. The invention relates to a high-pressure sodium vapour discharge lamp comprising a discharge vessel (1) and a glow starter (17). The glow starter (17) in the inoperative condition of the lamp is electrically connected parallel to the discharge vessel (1). In the operative condition the glow starter (17) is switched off electrically by means of a bimetal switch (13). Ac- cording to the invention the contact point (15) of the bimetal switch (13) which is connected to the glow star- ter (17) is situated on the wall of the discharge vessel (1). Herewith a reliable and simply relizable position- ing of the contact point (15) is obtained. Figure 3.
