ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A door strike for reinforcing a door jamb against forced entry has a stepped body which is designed to conform to the contour of the door jamb. When the door strike is mounted, a first planar platelike landing portion of the body is positioned against the edge margin of the jamb. This first landing portion defines a latch mechanism receiving opening though which a door mounted deadbolt or latch when the door is closed and locked. A second planar platelike landing portion of the body is positioned against a central region of the jamb when the door strike is mounted. In addition, an anchor rod projects rearwardly from this second landing portion, through the jamb, and into the center of studs which form the rough door opening so as to reinforce the jamb against forced entry.
