An internal combustion engine (10) having a crankcase (18), a cylinder (12) connected to the crankcase (18), a compressed air assisted fuel injection system connected between the crankcase (18) and the cylinder (12), and a reciprocating piston head (14) located in the cylinder (12). The improvement comprises a fuel delivery system (22) having two carburetors (19, 20) that switch delivery of fuel to two different locations based upon the speed of the engine (10). The system uses an accumulator (34) with piston ported reflected compression wave delivery of scavenged compressed air to deliver fuel at a wide open throttle position.
Cette invention concerne un moteur thermique (10) comprenant un carter (18), un cylindre (12) relié au carter (18), un système d'injection de carburant assisté par air comprimé disposé entre le carter (18) et le cylindre (12), et un piston (14) animé d'un mouvement alternatif logé dans le cylindre (12). L'amélioration concerne un système d'injection de carburant (22) doté de deux carburateurs (19, 20) qui injectent le carburant en deux points différents selon le régime du moteur (10). Ce système fait intervenir un accumulateur (34) avec alimentation du piston, par onde de compression réfléchie, en air comprimé récupéré, l'alimentation en carburant se faisant avec le papillon des gaz largement ouvert.
