The invention relates to a digital mobile communication system and a method for high-speed data transmission in a digital mobile communication system. The mobile network allocates two or more parallel traffic channels to a high-speed data signal which requires a transmission rate that exceeds the maximum transmission rate of one traffic channel. The high-speed data signal is packed into transmission frames which contain a fixed number N of information bits. The number of the information bits is such that the data rate of the frame is fixed and corresponds to a standard rate adaptation of a traffic channel in the mobile comunication system, for example 9.6 Kbps. Among these information bits of the transmission frame, a variable number of bits N1 which is dependent on the data rate of the high-speed data signal is employed for the transmission of the user data. From the remaining "free" information bits of the frame, n bits are control bits which indicate the number N1 of the user data bits in the frame. The remaing k information bits are stuff bits. By means of the invention, the transmission rate of the user data in the transmission frames may vary between 0 and a preset maximum value.

L'invention concerne un système numérique mobile et un procédé de transmission de l'information à grande vitesse dans ledit système. Le réseau mobile attribue au moins deux voies de trafic parallèles à un signal de données utilisateur à grande vitesse qui nécessite un débit de transfert d'information qui excède le débit de transmission d'information maximum d'une voie de trafic. Le signal de données à grande vitesse est comprimé en blocs contenant un nombre N fixe de bits d'information. Le nombre de bits d'information est choisi de sorte que le débit d'information du bloc soit fixe et corresponde à une adaptation de débit standard d'une voie de trafic dans le système de communication mobile, tel que 9,6 Kbps.
