ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Co-ordinates of start and end points on the screen of the CRT display unit are provided from a controller and stored in registers. A line information calculating portion performs calculation of line segment information necessary for linear interpolation based on the stored co-ordinates and the line segment information thus obtained is stored in a line segment register. Based on the stored line segment information, a co-ordinates interpolating portion calculates base line data and supplement line data comprising a plurality of dots for constituting a straight line connecting the start point co-ordinates and the end point co-ordinates, and the thus calculated base line data and supplement line data are stored in a frame memory transfer register so as to be transferred to a frame Lamar Thus, base line data and supplement line data are simultaneously transferred for linear interpolation and at the same time, information of the subsequent line segment is calculated so thaw the processing time for linear interpolation can be made short.
