Disclosed is a method and apparatus for producing sheets with swatches attached thereto by placing the swatches on a substantially continuous web and cutting the web into sheet lengths. The web includes registration marks which are surveyed by a controller which regulates the sheet producing apparatus to accurately place the swatches on the web and to accurately sever the sheets.
