L'invention concerne un alliage aluminium-magnésium-zinc-silicium, se présentant de préférence sous la forme d'une plaque, d'une feuille, ou d'un extrudat, et ayant la composition en pourcentage en masse suivante: Mg 0,5-1,5; Zn 0,1-3,8; Si 0,05-1,5; Mn 0,2-0,8; Zr 0,05-0,25; Cr 0,3 maximum; Cu < 0,3; Fe 0,5 maximum; Ag 0,4 maximum; Ti 0,2 maximum; le reste étant de l'aluminium et des impuretés inévitables.
