HIGH STRENGTH CERAMIC HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE Abstract of the Disclosure A high strength ceramic honeycomb structure includes a number of quadrilateral cells arranged adjacent to each other. Triangular cells are arranged in a zone in the proximity of an outer circumference of the honeycomb structure. Partitions of the triangular cells are oblique to partitions forming the quadrilateral cells and extending substantially toward a center of the honeycomb structure. The oblique partitions of the triangular cells serve to improve the isostatic strength of the honeycomb structure and to decrease the pressure losses.
