A pull-rope for internal combustion engines. The pull-rope is made of a Vectran fibre woven rope with a protective coating which lays flat when wound around the pulley and has a reduced diameter as a result of its superior strength. These two characteristics permit comparitively greater windings on the starter pulley which in turn yields quicker rotation of the pulley when pulled resulting in quicker starting and less length of pull requirements by the end user.
