The invention relates to a high temperature forgeable alloy consisting of < 0.05 C < 0.5 Si < 0.5 Mn 8.5 to 11 Al < 0.02 P < 0.01 S 4 to 10 Cr 23 to 28 Fe 0.025 to 0.2 Hf and/or rare earths and/or Zr < 0.5 Ti < 0.005 B residue nickel and admixtures due to melting, and its use for the production of articles for energy technology and the chemical industry which are resistant to sulphidization, carbonization and oxidation at temperatures between 400 and 1100°C.
