The problem associated with a high-temperature fuel cell (10, 20, 30) is that the electrical serial resistance increases during the operation of said high- temperature fuel cell (10, 20, 30). This increase is caused by an oxidation of the bipolar plate (11, 21, 31) surface on the combustion gas side. An oxidation of this type is largely prevented by an oxidation buffer element which is located in the combustion gas chamber (13) and which absorbs the oxygen.
