-10- HIGH TEMPERATURE SAMPLE PROBE WITH FILTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A high temperature sample probe for use in supplying high temperature gas samples from a high temperature environment to a gas analyzer having a mounting flange and an inlet port, comprising a high temperature filter made for example of sintered metal, threaded to the inlet port. A high temperature resistant tube extends to the high temperature environment and at least one additional stainless steel pipe is connected between the tube and the mounting flange of the analyzer for conducting sample gases from the high temperature environment to the filter. The filter is disposed within a space defined by the pipe. The pipe is sufficently long so that a temperature of the sample falls to a range which will not destroy the filter while still being above the dew point temperature of vapors in the sample. -10-
