ABSTRACT A high temperature screw lubricating paste is described which consists essentially of finely divided tin dioxide and, optionally, a thermally stable inorganic filler homogeneously dispersed in a carrier oil. The inert paste may be used with threaded connections to provide a low break-away torque when the connections are exposed to high temperatures for extended periods.
