ABSTRACT A high temperature cell of pelletised construction contained within a close fitting inert tube. Anode active material is lithium. Cathode active material is an iron sulphide or titanium disulphide. Electrolyte is a mixture of lithium halides. The cell is bounded by separator plates extending beyond the inner peripheral surface of the inert tube.
