ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A self-extinguishing resin composition stabilized to discoloration at elevated temperatures, which composition is obtained by incorporating in a styrene-containing polymeric thermoplastic resin rendered self-extinguishing by incorpora- tion therein of tetrabromobisphenol A, in combination with said tetrabromobisphenol A and based on the content thereof in said composition, (1) 0.005 - 0.15% by weight, calculated as elemental phosphorus, of at least one phosphorus compound selected from the group consisting of phosphorous acid and phosphorous acid esters and (2) 0.05 - 1.5% by weight of at least one tin compound selected from the group consisting of dialkyltin maleate, dialkyltin dilaurate, dialkyltin maleate laurate and the polymers thereof.
