The invention relates to a process for producing textured high temperature superconducting shaped parts, in which shaped parts of oxide ceramic material which is high temperature superconducting or becomes high temperature superconducting on appropriate treatment are first formed and, if desired, also sintered and/or molten and/or shaped after melting, where the shaped parts then experience a thermal treatment by zones along a longitudinal axis, wherein the shaped parts are at least partially and/or incompletely melted in the hottest zone of a furnace, with the necessary energy being applied partially or completely by means of an alternating electromagnetic field.
