A method for the high throughput screening of fatty acid characteristics in seeds is provided. The method comprises feeding seeds individually to a sampling station; removing a sample from the seed in the sampling station; conveying the sample to a compartment in a sample tray; converting extracted oil from the sample in the sample tray to form a mixture of fatty acid methyl esters; and analyzing the mixture of fatty acid methyl esters from the sample to determine the fatty acid profile of the corresponding seed.

L'invention concerne une méthode de criblage à haut rendement des caractéristiques des acides gras dans des graines. Ladite méthode consiste à alimenter individuellement en graines une station d'échantillonnage, à prélever un échantillon de la graine dans la station d'échantillonnage, à transporter l'échantillon dans un compartiment dans un plateau à échantillon, à convertir l'huile extraite de l'échantillon dans le plateau à échantillon pour former un mélange d'esters méthyliques d'acides gras, et à analyser le mélange des esters méthyliques d'acides gras de l'échantillon pour déterminer le profil des acides gras de la graine correspondante.
