The invention is an improvement to the cylindrical highlighter pen. The older design has a round grip offering no physical indication as to the alignment of the chisel shaped nib. It requires that the person visually check the nib each time before marking a highlight or an underline. This is distracting and unnecessary. The invention will flatten two opposing sides of the grip, which will help the fingers align the pen to the correct orientation. As well, a ridge or a bump, placed on one of these flat surfaces, will differentiate the pointed nib's orientation. The flattening of the grip will in no way disturb the pen's sleek cylindrical outer profile. Like the original design, it will store easily in pockets and pencil cases giving you the option of canying more than one.
