Abstract A fuel preparing element, particularly for vapour burners fed with liquid fuel, comprises an electrically heatable fuel preparing chamber (1) of which at least one outlet aperture (5) opens into a combustion chamber (6). A constructional unit having the fuel preparing chamber is composed of a plurality of ceramic parts including a tube (2) of larger diameter, a tube (3) of smaller diameter pushed into the end section thereof, and at least one closure element (8) at the other end section. The parts are sintered moulded or extruded parts with approxi- mately equal coefficients of thermal expansion interconnected at their abutting areas (25, 26) in a heat resistant manner. Fig. 1.
