A hinge, preferably made of plastics material, has two connecting arms (5.1, 5.2) arranged at a distance (k1, k2) apart which connect a closure part (1) and a closure body (2). Each connecting arm has at least one relatively rigid intermediate part (4) and a coupling element (7) which executes a relieving movement. The coupling element (7) protrudes movably from the corresponding hinge part (1, 2). Two bending regions (9.1, 10.1; 9.2, 10.2) which form an angle with each other delimit the intermediate part (4). The connecting arms (5.1, 5.2) may be parallel or non-parallel to each other or be bent in one plane. When folded out, the connecting arms snap into the shape of the arch of a bridge, without large material elongations, a compensating movement deviating the excess stress laterally in the dead centre. As a result of an additional bending region (11.1, 11.2, 12.1, 12.2), with or without a snapeffect, in each connecting arm, the opening angle is substantially increased andtri-stable or multi-stable opening or closing, as desired, is achieved.
