A hinge assembly for a weapon, in particular for a hinged visor, in which two swivel elements (1, 2; 201, 202) are coupled together by a common coupling element (7; 207) and can tilt relative to each other through the defined pivotal axis of the coupling element (7; 207), wherein the coupling element (7; 207) is built into the hinge assembly in a removable manner and exhibits a safety element (9; 209, 210) which can be brought into contact with at least one of the two swivel elements (1, 2; 201, 202). In the engaged position, said safety element (9; 209, 210) fixes the built-in coupling element (7; 207) into the hinge assembly, in particular in the direction of the swivel axis.
