ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hinge construction which comprises a first leaf having a hollow knuckle thereon and end edges. One of the end edges of the leaf leads up to the knuckle and has its end adjacent to the knuckle. The first leaf has a groove opening out of the end edges. A second leaf is also provided with a knuckle thereon and end edges. A hinge pin extends through the knuckle and aligns the knuckles such that the knuckle of the first leaf is axially offset from the knuckle of the second leaf. A wire is located in the groove of the first leaf and extends into the interior of the knuckle of the first leaf, with the wire being capable of forming part of an electrical circuit with which the hinge is associated.
