A flotation apparatus, specifically a ski (27) is provided for use on an aircraft (21) for improving the egress and ingress from the aircraft cabin (20). The ski (27) is particularly applicable to helicopters (21) having fixed wheeled landing gear (23). The ski (27) includes a forward portion (55) substantially fixed in a parallel configuration with respect to the longitudinal axis of the helicopter and an aft portion (57). The aft portion (57) is rotatable from a substantially parallel configuration with respect to the longitudinal axis of the helicopter; the aft portion (57) is rotatably attached to the forward portion (55) using a fastener, specifically a hinge means (35). To reconfigure the aft portion (57) into a flight or landing configuration, the operator grasp the aft portion (57) with the grapple hook (77), thereby pulling upward on the aft portion (57) until the aft portion (57) is securely latched to the forward portion (55).
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'appui sur le sol, de préférence un ski (27), destiné à être monté sur un aéronef (21) pour faciliter l'entrée dans la cabine (20) dudit aéronef et la sortie de celle-ci. Ledit ski (27) se monte en particulier sur des hélicoptères (21) pourvus d'un train d'atterrissage (23) fixe à roues, ledit hélicoptère (21) participant à des missions avec descente en rappel ou bien pendant lesquelles l'entrée dans la cabine (20) de l'hélicoptère et la sortie de celle-ci peuvent être effectuées pendant des vols stationnaires à basse altitude. Le ski (27) présenté comprend une partie avant (55) fixée sensiblement parallèle à l'axe longitudinal de l'hélicoptère et une partie arrière (57). Cette partie arrière (57) peut pivoter pour passer d'une position sensiblement parallèle à l'axe longitudinal de l'hélicoptère à une position sensiblement perpendiculaire audit axe. La partie arrière (57) est fixée pivotante à la partie avant (55) au moyen d'un élément de fixation, spécifiquement une charnière (35). Pendant une mission, un opérateur utilise un grappin (77) pour libérer au moins un mécanisme de verrouillage (65). La partie arrière (57) du ski pivote alors, sous l'effet de la force de gravité et de la déflexion vers le bas due aux pales du rotor, pour prendre la position sensiblement perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinal de l'hélicoptère, position dans laquelle elle ne gène pas l'entrée dans la cabine de l'hélicoptère ou la sortie de celle-ci. Pour remettre la partie arrière (57) du ski dans sa position de vol ou d'atterrissage, l'opérateur l'accroche au moyen du grappin (77) et la tire vers le haut jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit verrouillée de façon sûre à la partie avant (55).
