A hip prosthesis (1) comprising a shank (2) which is inserted into the extremity of the femur (3), in which the longitudinal axis (H-H) of the said shank (2) follows a path substantially parallel to the external profile (P) of the head of the femur (3) in the top part of its cervical-trochanter area (3a) is described.
