"HITCH ASSEMBLY FOR FARM IMPLEMENTS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hitch assembly normally extends forwardly from the front of the implement towards the tractor. However with relatively wide implements in use today, they cannot be pull- ed through gateways or long roads. In the present invention, the hitch includes a main dog leg member pivotally extending from one end of the main front beam of the implement and a secondary member pivotally extending from the other end of the main frame beam and detachably latching into the main dog leg member at the angulation towards the front thereof. This is in the field working position. When it is desired to trans- port the implement, the latch is released and the tractor pulls the main dog leg member around through approximately 135° to align with the longitudinal axis of the implement. A cable assembly operatively connects between the two hitch members and pulls the secondary member along side the main front beam. An adjustable pivot connection between the hitch members and the implement allows limited rolling action of the main front beam when in the transport position but prevents this motion when in the field position as well as aligning the latching end of the second hitch member with the latch recess of the main hitch member when they are returned to the field working position so that automatic latching can take place.
