A boom is pivotally cantilevered from a towing vehicle, preferably from a hitch receiver, the boom extending out over the hitch. An extension actuator drives a lift actuator along the boom, the lift actuator having a cable which connects to a towed vehicles hitch coupler. A pivot actuator swings the boom over the hitch thereby providing maximal flexibility in coupling a towed vehicle's coupler to the towing vehicle's hitch, regardless of terrain or towed vehicle tongue weight.
