A system is provided for increasing a hockey player's shooting strength. The system includes a practice goal and an overweight training puck. The goal is made up of a frame, which supports a planar, flexible rubber sheet having a height and width corresponding to a standard hockey goal. A semi-rigid extension panel is provided, extending along at least one of the peripheral sides of the flexible rubber sheet.
