ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ice hockey stick has a tubular handle of rectangular section overlying a rectangular end of the blade and held thereto by a securing device. Such device has a pressure plate with a screw projecting from one side of the plate. A cylindrical flanged member threaded onto the screw rests in a borehole in the blade end. When the cylindrical member is turned, it forces the pressure plate against the inside of the handle and the flange against the blade end, as well as moving an end of the cylindrical member into a hole in the handle, thus locking the blade to the handle.
