A hockey stick having a handle comprising an elongate, rectangular, hollow tube having a tube length comprising a first side; a second side opposing the first side; a pair of opposing third and fourth sides separating the first side from the second side, wherein the sides define an inner chamber; and at least one planar supporting member within the chamber extending the length or one or more parts thereof the tube connecting the first side with the second side. The supporting members provide support to the sides of the handle, particularly to its weakest sides.
