The present invention is a holding device that can be used to easily and simply mount and hold the cylindrical post of a large protecting umbrella or parasol at various angles to a variety of openwork guardrails or railings on an outside patio or on a balcony. The tightening of securing bolts of the device simultaneously anchors the holding device to the guardrails and grasps the cylindrical post within symmetrical jaws of the device.
