ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pair of holding devices for side boards in ingot molds are disclosed as extendible metal members capable of being wedged between a pair of side boards in the upper end of an ingot mold so as to hold the same against floating and simultaneously engage and hold a second pair of side boards in the upper end of the ingot mold positioned at right angles to the first pair. The holding devices are self-tensioning rod-like metal members having U-shaped configurations inwardly of their ends with serrated clips attached to the ends for engaging the side boards. This invention distinguishes from other inventions by reason of the provision of the self tensioning spring-like rods from which the devices are largely formed together with the serrated end clips which hold the devices in position in an ingot mold. -2-
