ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A holdown formed from one piece of sheet metal has a first base plate integral with one end of an elongate back plate, with a bend in the sheet metal connecting the back plate and the first base plate. The first base plate extends forwardly from the back plate at right angles to the back plate. A pair of side plates extend forwardly from opposite sides of the back plate and are parallel to one another and at right angles to the back plate. Second and third base plates, integral with the side plates, are connected to the side plates along respective bends in the sheet metal and at right angles to the side plates. The first, second and third plates are disposed in mutually parallel superimposed relationships and are formed with first, second and third holes, respectively, which are in mutual alignment for receiving an anchor bolt therethrough
