A hollow molded product which contains a polyester composition containing an ethylene-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate polymer and at least one ultraviolet absorber in an amount of 0.01 to 5.0 wt% based on the ethylene-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate polymer, and which has a birefringence factor (.DELTA.n) of the barrel portion of 0.17 or more, and a process for preparation thereof.

L'invention concerne un produit moulé creux qui comprend une composition polyester contenant un polymère éthylène-2,6-naphtalène dicarboxylate et au moins un absorbeur de rayons ultraviolets dans une quantité comprise entre 0,01 à 5 % en poids sur la base du polymère éthylène-2,6-naphtalène dicarboxylate. Ledit produit possède un facteur de biréfringence (.DELTA.n) de la partie cylindre de 0,17 ou plus. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation de ladite composition.
