[PROBLEMS] A hologram information reproducing device capable of reproducing information from a hologram information-recorded recording medium and being downsized. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When output from a light source (11), light beams are changed into parallel light beams by the lens (121) of an optical system (12). These parallel light beams A have their directions changed to obliquely lower directions by a mirror (122) to be directed toward a recording medium M. Specifically, when viewed from above, light beams from the light source (11) have light paths changed about 90~ by the mirror (122), and, when viewed from side, light beams from the light source (11) have light paths changed about 45~ downward by the mirror (122). Since an interference fringe (25) recorded on a recording medium M is in the form of Bragg grating, reproduced light beams B are obtained by Bragg diffraction when the light beams A are applied to the recording area (24) of the recording medium M. Reproduced light beams B are reflected off the reflection layer (23) of the recording medium M to be detected by a photodetector (13).
