A method and apparatus to remove human features utilizing at least one transmitter transmitting a signal between 200 MHz and 1 THz, the signal having at least one characteristic of elliptical polarization, and at least one receiver receiving the reflection of the signal from the transmitter. A plurality of such receivers and transmitters are arranged together in an array which is in turn mounted to a scanner, allowing the array to be passed adjacent to the surface of the item being imaged while the transmitter is transmitting electromagnetic radiation. The array is passed adjacent to the surface of the item, such as a human being, that is being imaged. The portions of the received signals wherein the polarity of the characteristic has been reversed and those portions of the received signal wherein the polarity of the characteristic has not been reversed are identified. An image of the item from those portions of the received signal wherein the polarity of the characteristic was reversed is then created.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et appareil servant à supprimer des caractéristiques humaines utilisant au moins un transmetteur transmettant un signal entre 200 MHz et 1 THz, le signal comportant au moins une caractéristique de polarisation elliptique, et au moins un récepteur recevant la réflexion du signal en provenance du transmetteur. Une pluralité de tels récepteurs et transmetteurs est disposée dans une matrice qui est à son tour montée sur un dispositif de balayage, de manière à faire passer la matrice à proximité de la surface de l'article étant traité en tant qu'image tandis que le transmetteur transmet un rayonnement électromagnétique. La matrice est faite passer à proximité de la surface de l'article, tel un être humain, qui est traité en tant qu'image. Les parties des signaux reçus dans lesquels la polarité de la caractéristique a été inversée et les parties du signal reçu dans lequel la polarité de la caractéristique n'a pas été inversée sont identifiées. Une image de l'article à partir des parties du signal reçu dans lequel la polarité de la caractéristique a été inversée est alors créée.
