The invention provides a rivet (100) and method of installing the rivet to attach honeycomb material (184) to other materials (186, 188). The rivet in installed in hole by a back sleeve (102) is inserted through one end of the hole while a front side sleeve (104) with a stem member (160) is inserted through the other end of the hole such that a head (154) of the stem member and a sleeve of the front sleeve are positioned within a sleeve of the back sleeve. A shank (158) of the stem member is then pulled such that the head of the stern member expands the sleeve portions of both sleeves into the materials to attach to the rivet to the materials. A locking collar (108) is also provided to lock the stem member to the front sleeve.

L'invention concerne un rivet et un procédé permettant d'installer ce rivet afin de fixer un matériau en nid d'abeille sur d'autres matériaux. On installe ce rivet en perçant un trou à travers les matériaux à assembler. On introduit une douille de rivet arrière à travers une extrémité du trou, et on introduit la douille avant dans laquelle est insérée une tige, à travers l'autre extrémité du trou, de manière à placer la tête de la tige et le manchon de la douille avant à l'intérieur du manchon de la douille arrière. On tire ensuite la queue de la tige de telle manière que la tête de la tige déploie les manchons des douilles avant et arrière dans les matériaux, assemblant ainsi le rivet aux matériaux. Ce rivet comprend en outre un collier de verrouillage qui permet de verrouiller la tige avec la douille avant sous l'effet d'une traction continue de la tige.
